Psychology Faculty, Amita Uppal

Hello, I’m Amita Uppal, an educator with a lifelong passion for teaching and over 40 years of experience in the classroom. My journey in education has taken me across continents, from inspiring young minds in India to shaping futures in the United States. I specialize in English, Social Studies, and Psychology, working primarily with high school students.

I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education, credentials that have shaped my understanding of both the academic and emotional needs of students. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching at esteemed institutions like San Carlos Secondary School and San Carlos Apache College in Arizona, as well as prestigious schools in India, including St. Stephen’s School and Yadvindra Public School.

Beyond teaching, I’ve worn many hats—curriculum designer, extracurricular coordinator, student counselor, reading specialist, instructional coach, and test coordinator. Whether I’m guiding a classroom discussion, organizing a school-wide event, or helping a student discover their potential, my mission remains the same: to foster academic excellence and personal growth.

I’m also passionate about integrating technology into education, leveraging platforms like Schoology and Canvas to enhance learning experiences. With certifications in online teaching through Quality Matters, I’m committed to making education engaging, accessible, and relevant in today’s digital age.

Every day in this profession reaffirms my belief in the transformative power of education, and I am deeply honored to be part of my students’ journeys toward success.
