Xina Uhl, a Globe High graduate, lived on the San Carlos Apache Reservation while in high school. Little did she know that she would one day return to teach history at San Carlos Apache College, and act as the Liaison to the Board of Regents. After high school, she received a BA in history from Arizona State University and an MA in history from California State University, Northridge. Her varied career has involved administrative and grant work for county and city governments, authoring more than thirty nonfiction books for young people, and teaching at the college level. Her fiction spans genres including fantasy, adventure, and romance—and locations, such as the Roman Empire, Antarctica, and the American West.
